Board nominates Tim London to City Council for appointment to Edgewater Economic Development Board

The Edgewater Economic Development Board voted to recommend Tim London to the City Council for appointment to the city's Economic Development Board. A motion to forward London's application was made, seconded and approved; the board's recommendation will be presented to the City Council at its first meeting in June.

London, who the board introduced as an applicant, said he and his family have lived in Edgewater for four years and that he retired in 2021 after a long career in construction and development. "We fell in love with Florida when I was doing a project in Palatka," he said, explaining his decision to move to the area. During a question-and-answer period, London told board members he had worked with a top-400 general contractor, managed multi-year projects and had direct interactions with municipalities, experience several members said would be useful on either the Planning & Zoning board or the Economic Development Board.

Board members repeatedly cited London's attendance at workshops and his practical experience when endorsing him. The recorded vote on the motion to forward the nomination showed the motion carried, with the board instructing staff to place the recommendation on the council agenda in June. The council retains final appointment authority.
