By consensus the council directed staff to return with a report on the approved $200,000 community investment funds and the creation of an ad hoc committee to oversee that work. The council also considered council member reports and community activities; Council Member Vicky Santana moved and Council Member Aida Macedo seconded a motion directing staff to draft a flag policy; the motion passed 4-0-1 with Council Member Warner absent.
Council members highlighted recent tours, outreach and events including the Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority visit, Southeast Water Coalition meeting, and Pride Month activities. By consensus staff was directed to bring back a Proclamation to celebrate Pride Month at the next meeting. Staff will return with the requested reports and draft policy language for council review.
