Student board members report fall activities: events, college visits and club fair

Student Board Member Sara Zacharek updated the Saginaw Township Board of Education that STCS students began the school year on Aug. 19 and that Heritage has already held Curriculum Night, an all‑school welcome back assembly and a senior sunrise. Zacharek said school counselors at Heritage are helping seniors with college and career planning and that Central Michigan University visited last Friday with additional college visits planned.
Student Board Member Madalin Yaw said Heritage’s first Hawk Walk — an event for clubs to promote activities and organizations — is scheduled for Wednesday, and that the school will host its first blood drive next week. Yaw also reported student recognitions and commitments: Savannah Heinz received a Rotary Leadership Award and Breeghan Hamilton has committed to play lacrosse at Central Michigan University in fall 2026.
