Pike County proclaims August 2026 as Community Health Centers Week

The Pike County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 6 adopted Resolution No. 26-21 proclaiming August 2026 as Community Health Centers Week and recognized Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers for its regional services.
A resolution was read into the record describing the role of community health centers in delivering primary and preventive care in underserved rural and urban communities and noting Wayne Memorial’s expansion to multiple counties and its family medicine residency track. The board moved and seconded adoption of the proclamation, which passed by voice vote.
Chair thanked the Wayne Memorial representatives in attendance and invited them for a photograph following the meeting. Commissioners and the health-center representatives expressed appreciation for the partnership and services provided to Pike County residents.
