The Novi Community School District Board of Education voted unanimously Nov. 13 to approve a $70,984 purchase of kitchen equipment for Novi Middle School.
Vice‑President Cook moved that the board "approve the purchase of kitchen equipment from Great Lakes Hotel Supply for a total of $70,984.00, to be taken out of the excess fund balance in the Food Service account, as presented." The motion carried 7–0.
Assistant Superintendent Scicluna and Kimberly Sinclair, Director of Food Services, presented the proposal in the board’s information session before the vote, summarizing equipment needs and expected benefits for meal preparation at the middle school. The board voted the purchase from the district’s Food Service excess fund balance rather than the general fund or bond proceeds.
Board members did not record any opposing remarks during the vote. The procurement will proceed under the vendor identified in the presentation, Great Lakes Hotel Supply. The purchase was presented and approved as a single action item; no amendment or separate funding motion was recorded.
