Staff presented conceptual plans for a South Edgewater waterfront park and boat ramp, describing a two-phase approach intended to align with grant cycles. “We are looking to phase the park into 2 phases for funding and grant purposes,” staff said, describing phase 1 priorities as docks, restrooms and basic parking and phase 2 as playgrounds, pavilions and additional courts.
The project is in early design; staff said they will use grant funds and police impact fees for initial design and docking infrastructure and will pursue construction bidding later. Board members asked about permeable parking and flood resilience; staff said they are evaluating surface materials and conducting core sampling and site testing before final design.
