Board adopts multiple policy revisions, adds ESTA policy and removes MPMLA policy
Summary
The board adopted revisions to nondiscrimination and Title IX policies, added a new Michigan Earned Sick Time Act policy (4113), and deleted the Michigan Paid Medical Leave Act policy (4305); changes were approved 6–0.
President Kristen Fauson presented a package of policy updates that the board had received in advance. By motion of Member Michaud, supported by Member Ninemeier, the board adopted, revised or deleted multiple policies in Sections 3100 (General Operations), 4100 (Employee Rights and Responsibilities) and 5200 (Student Conduct and Discipline), including the 3115 nondiscrimination/anti‑harassment series and 3118 Title IX sexual harassment policy. The board also adopted a new policy for the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act (4113) and deleted policy 4305 (Michigan Paid Medical Leave Act).
Board discussion followed the motion and all changes were approved by a 6–0 roll-call vote. The minutes list specific sub‑policy identifiers (3115A–3115H, 4101, 4102, 4104, 4105A, 4113, 4305 deletion, 5202, 5206, 5309). No legal or disciplinary actions were taken as part of the policy adoption beyond the board's vote to revise or delete the listed policies.
