The Forest Hills Board of Education adopted a resolution on Feb. 10 calling a special election for May 6, 2025, to ask voters to renew an 18‑mill operating millage for six years (2026–2031) and to add a .5‑mill Headlee restoration if needed. The resolution instructs the election coordinator to publish required notices and to use The Grand Rapids Press for publication. The ballot language included with the resolution estimates the district would collect approximately $24,000,000 if 18 mills are levied in 2026.
Member Kermode offered the motion and Member Colley supported it; the motion carried by a 6–0 roll call vote. The board authorized the secretary to file the resolution and related exhibits with local election officials by statutory deadlines.
