The Pontiac City School District board convened a special meeting on Feb. 23, 2026, at 5:05 p.m. and confirmed a quorum with President Dr. Anisha Hannah presiding. The board approved the published agenda on a motion moved by Marcus Terry and supported by Secretary Sha'Quana Davis-Smith; the minutes record the vote as ayes: Davis-Smith, Dooley, Hannah, Miller, Terry and Bowman, with no nays.
Shortly after approving the agenda, the board voted to enter a closed session at 5:07 p.m. "to consider strategy for union negotiation sessions necessary to reach a collective bargaining agreement." The motion to enter closed session was moved by Marcus Terry and supported by Sha'Quana Davis-Smith; it carried. The board returned to open session at 6:01 p.m. and adjourned the meeting at 6:02 p.m. Secretary Sha'Quana Davis-Smith certified the minutes and signed the record, stating, "I hereby certify that the foregoing minutes are true and correct."
