Councilmember Walla Blake (District 6) opened a Prince George's County work group meeting to review CR 101, the legislation underpinning the Prince George's Care health‑insurance program, and to set a schedule and data requests for the FY2026 budget process. The group agreed to meet every other Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., alternating virtual and in‑person sessions when possible, and Blake emphasized the need for a deliverable ahead of the county budget cycle.
"we, we need to have, something to submit, by March 14, which is a short time, and we've lost some time," Blake said, stressing urgency and asking staff to confirm whether the March 14 deadline is flexible with the county budget office. She also reminded members of a longer‑term deliverable: a plan due to the council by 12/15/2025.
Beyond scheduling, Blake asked the Office of Management and Budget and Office of Finance for historical spending and administration‑cost numbers for the Health Assures program and requested that each FQHC provide a concise summary of services, invoicing and gaps so the work group can compare provider data to government analysis. Staff committed to circulate calendar invites, confirm room and recording logistics and follow up on outstanding attendance from absent stakeholders.
