The Finance & Buildings & Grounds Committee discussed a traffic-signal project that will add two stop signs and restripe intersections as part of a broader site safety scope. Committee members reported the county bond of $90,000 has been paid and said the signal portion required a public bid because the contractor must be MDOT certified; only one bid was received.
Staff told the committee the signal work will be handled as a change order under the existing construction contract and funded out of the district contingency account. Committee members said the work should be completed before the start of school and that the item will be included in the committee update at the July 22 meeting.
