Director: council to consider downtown parking timing-resolution March 19; paid parking proposed for summer 2026

"The council will be asked to move forward with a resolution to adopt the timing of improvements for downtown parking at their meeting on March 19," Heather said, summarizing the council's current preference for an "alternative 3" sequence of signage, employee parking, enforcement, then paid parking in summer 2026. Heather said commissioners who served on the parking committee had been engaged and that staff would provide updates to the commission as the council considers the item.
Heather also noted the planning commission's next meeting may be March 25 or moved to April 8 depending on scheduling and regulatory topics; she said commissioners would be informed by the following Tuesday whether the March 25 meeting would proceed.
