Poulsbo planning department releases EIS for comp plan; 30-day comment period closes Feb. 18

The department released the EIS analyzing four growth alternatives for the comprehensive plan and opened a 30-day public comment period, which staff said closes Feb. 18. The director said, assuming comments are manageable, staff aims for a joint Planning Commission and City Council meeting (tentatively March 11), a public release of the comprehensive plan on April 11, a planning commission public hearing, and council adoption in June.
The director said functional plans that analyze stormwater, sewer, traffic and solid-waste systems are now about 75% complete and were required before releasing the EIS. Staff said they expect limited public comment to date but will proceed with outreach and joint meetings as scheduled.
