Two Calvert schools expected to be designated community schools this summer, staff says

Dr. Marcy Gruver told the committee the district expects two schools to be officially designated as community schools by the Maryland State Department of Education this summer. She named PAC Elementary and Calvert County School as the two sites the district anticipates will be selected; she said a planned freeze on new identifications after next year will not impact these schools.
Committee members asked for clarification about timing; Dr. Gruver said the official identification would come in the summer from MSDE and reiterated that the district is preparing to support designated sites.
