District staff told the committee the career-ladder submission is due July 1 and must include salary information and the criteria for teacher advancement. "The submission is due on July 1," Dr. Marcy Gruver said, adding that level 1 through 4 salary data and movement criteria must be included while several components remain deferred until after the 2025 legislative session.
During questions, committee members pressed for what constitutes level 4 status and potential salary impacts. Dr. Johnson and others explained that National Board certification is a baseline for levels 3 and 4 and that the blueprint prescribes salary increases for level-4 subcategories: "For lead teacher, it would be an additional $5,000 salary increase. For a distinguished teacher, it's implementing a 10,000 salary increase. For the professor distinguished, it's an additional $15,000 increase," Dr. Johnson said.
