The City Council approved RV Ordinance 2026-0127-4 to update campground rules and to prevent long-term occupancy by instituting different stay limits for the park's two sides. The ordinance renames the park areas (proposed Waylon Jennings North and Waylon Jennings South), sets a free five-consecutive-day limit on the north side and a $30-per-day fee up to 10 consecutive days on the south side, and includes a reservation system proposal that could utilize the city website.
Council discussion also covered planned improvements to the campground if funding and implementation proceed: new playground equipment, refurbished bathrooms, memorial refurbishment, cornhole and horseshoe areas, a dog park, updated signage, pedestal repairs and additional lighting (including solar and motion-activated fixtures). Council Member Kenny Rucker moved to approve the ordinance and Jason Ayala seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
