Superintendent previews bond virtual tours, town halls and warns of $8 million escalation if delayed

Superintendent Jamie Kraatz told the board on Sept. 22 that the district has posted virtual tours of proposed school projects online and will hold its first bond town hall the next evening at Sherwood Elementary, with a second session scheduled for Oct. 23 at Heritage High School. Kraatz said tours and in-person opportunities will be available for residents who want to see proposed facility plans.
Kraatz said delaying the projects for a year would add roughly $8 million in estimated costs and demonstrated a PFM tax credit calculator to explain tax and financing projections. She said the district will host a panel including Spence Brothers, WTA Architects and PFM, and that outreach via postcards, PTO presentations and civic groups is underway.
