Commissioner Kelly Boren introduced herself to the Arapahoe County Planning Commission during the Aug. 4 meeting.
"My name is Kelly Boren. I live in Byers. I've been there for about 10 years," Boren said, adding she retired this year after serving as principal at Byers High School and that a REAP representative encouraged her to apply to the commission. Commissioners welcomed her and noted the value of preserving institutional knowledge as members change.
Several commissioners spoke in favor of developing a formal onboarding packet and a process to recognize departing members. Staff said a draft orientation is under internal review and that they will work to capture historical knowledge for new appointees. The commission adjourned after brief announcements.
