Grand County EMS gets commission sign‑off to apply for Safe Streets for All planning grant

Clark said an analysis requested for the grant showed that, when staff considered the five‑year period from 2018 to 2022, “if you were to take everybody in this room and add 2 people, that would be the number of people that have died on highways in Grand County” during the review period — a statistic the presenter used to underline the grant's safety rationale. Commissioners moved to authorize the chair to sign the application and related documents; the motion passed on an affirmative voice vote.
The authorization allows staff to finalize and submit the grant package; no additional financial commitment by the county was recorded at the meeting.
