Lockney council adopts amendments to LEDC bylaws on attendance and resignations

The Lockney City Council unanimously approved proposed amendments to the Lockney Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) bylaws during its Jan. 21 meeting. The amendments, presented under guidance of legal counsel from the Slater Elza Underwood law firm, include attendance expectations for directors and procedures for resignations; the council accepted the amendments on a motion by Councilman Edward Marks, seconded by Councilwoman Rosio Reyes.
The minutes include specific bylaw language references (Article 4.06 and 4.07). Under the attendance provision the bylaws state that directors "shall be expected to regularly attend all Board meetings" and authorize the council to remove any director who is absent from three consecutive regular or special meetings or 66% of total meetings. The resignation provision requires resignations in writing and makes resignations effective on receipt; it also states that a director who files for elected office other than mayor or city council must automatically resign, with the vacancy to be filled per Article II, Section 1 of the bylaws.
