Kremmling blast fence contract okayed; county ratifies $363,000 FAA entitlement transfer

Grand County commissioners approved two airport-related items: a services contract with H.W. Lochner Inc. to design and manage the Kremmling blast-fence upgrade and a ratification of an FAA entitlement transfer of $363,000 from Granby Airport to Kremmling Airport.
Sean Mahorney (speaker 10) outlined the Lochner contract, describing design, bidding, construction administration and closeout services with a county share of $67,440; the total project funding is $222,223 with a 90/10 state/local split. "This services contract is for the design engineering, bidding, construction services, and project closeout of the Kremmling blast fence upgrade with the cost of $67,440," Mahorney said.
Mahorney also said an FAA entitlement-transfer form had been signed last week but not previously ratified; the board ratified the signature and authorized the transfer of $363,000 in entitlement funds. Commissioners treated the ratification as standard practice, noting airport entitlement transfers sometimes require signature follow-up with the FAA.
Both items were approved on motions authorizing the chair to sign the relevant agreements.
