"I was arrested by deputy Mathis while recording a traffic stop from the side of the road," Galindo said, adding he "stayed on public ground, never obstructed, never interfered" and that body‑cam footage contradicts the deputy's account. Galindo told the board the county's decision to prosecute has forced him to consider a federal civil‑rights lawsuit seeking "$1,000,000 or more for wrongful arrest and retaliation." He said his goal is accountability rather than money and asked commissioners to consult the county attorney about whether the district attorney should proceed.
Commissioners did not take action during the meeting on Galindo's request; the chair closed public comment after Galindo finished and moved the agenda to administrative business.
