The Langley City Council on July 6 adopted its six‑year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which lists a suite of municipal priorities including bluff management projects and structural work on city hall funded in part by a grant.
Director Randy Perry told council the bluff management section lists multiple slope restoration projects with a total need near $1,000,000 and that the 2025 budget included $150,000 to initiate work at four locations. Staff also reported a roughly $260,000 grant for structural reinforcement of the city hall roof that must be expended by the funding deadline in mid‑2027. "So we received the $260,000 roughly, as agreed. So that's to structurally reinforce the city hall roof," a staff member said.
Council members emphasized that adopting the CIP is a programming decision, not a budget appropriation: it sets priorities and makes projects eligible for grant applications and future budget planning. Council voted to adopt the plan and directed staff to include the CIP priorities in upcoming budget deliberations.
