Deputy City Manager Jonathan Royce presented a year-long redesign of the Santa Paula city website and said staff plan to launch the new site "next Wednesday, in the afternoon." The preview showed a cleaner header, updated logo placement, vertical news and events layout, and a mobile-friendly design that functions like an app on phones.
Royce highlighted a community-facing "submit an event" feature that routes proposed events to staff for vetting and placement on the public calendar. He said the homepage will be 100% ADA-compliant and that additional backend pages will be scanned and updated separately; staff plan a website training for city employees in January to support content owners.
The redesign also includes a floating translation bar tied to Google Translate and an integration to the city's CRM and newsletter tools to better surface emergency notices and trending social media posts.
