Board approves agenda, donations and consent items; moves to closed session on labor talks

The Albert Lea Area Schools Board of Education approved its Nov. 17 meeting agenda after a motion from Board Director Neal Skaar and a second from Board Director Mary Jo Dorman; the motion carried 6-0. The board also approved donations (moved by Board Director Gary Schindler, seconded by Board Director Kim Nelson) and the consent agenda (moved by Kim Nelson, seconded by Angie Hoffman), each by unanimous 6-0 votes.
Later in the meeting, Board Director Gary Schindler moved, and Board Director Angie Hoffman seconded, a motion to enter closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. sec. 13D.03 for labor negotiations; that motion carried 6-0. After closed session the board adjourned at 7:50 p.m. on a motion by Neal Skaar, seconded by Mary Jo Dorman, carried 6-0. The meeting began at 5:00 p.m. at Brookside Education Center with six board members present and Superintendent Heil in attendance.
