Students and staff recognized; Claymont donates $2,419.50 to Rainbow Connection

The board used the March 9 meeting to recognize staff and students for recent achievements and community service. Mrs. Whipkey reported that she and four students appeared on television March 8 to present donations totaling $2,419.50 from the Primary and Elementary buildings to the Rainbow Connection; Mrs. Grandison commended the effort and said Claymont had collected more than any other school in the program.
The board also recognized staff who assisted with medical needs and honored district personnel for participation in emergency response (CISM) and invited staff to statewide events, and congratulated state wrestling qualifiers by name. These commendations were presented under the board’s commendations agenda item and required no board action.
