Board accepts resignations, approves substitutes, policies and program agreements
Summary
The board accepted two resignations, approved volunteers, after-school staffing, Stark State College CCP agreement, OHSAA membership, gifted education plan and several board and technology policies, and approved classified substitutes pending credentialing.
Under Superintendent recommendations the board accepted the resignation of Devon Anthony (effective Jan. 14, 2026) and Tina Jones (preferred district substitute, effective Feb. 20, 2026). The board approved Amanda Belknap as a band volunteer and Joey Lunsford as an after-school high‑school credit recovery instructor at the tutor rate. The board amended an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman and approved continued OHSAA membership for 2026–2027.
The board also approved the district Gifted Identification Plan and Gifted Education Policy, the Stark State College College Credit Plus agreement, and technology-related policies (Internet Filtering; Responsible Use; Staff Responsible Use signature page). Multiple board policy updates were approved including Policy 6.09 Preventing Chronic Absenteeism (effective Aug. 1, 2026), 6.30 Student Health Services and First Aid, 6.44 Transportation of Students in Board Owned Vehicles (replacement), 6.60 Overdose Reversal Drugs, 8.11 Expense Reimbursements, 9.33 Control of Pest Insects, and 9.44 Recording of Academic Instruction, Meetings, and Other Services. Several classified substitutes were approved pending credentials.
