Commissioners grant CUP for Miller sawmill, set operating conditions

Those conditions included restricting hours of operation for the sawmill to 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Saturday; requiring operations be inside a permitted structure; permitting outdoor storage only in compliance with planning-and-zoning ordinance section 901b; restricting heavy-duty truck access to County 84 from the south and prohibiting northbound traffic from the site to protect the roadway; ensuring setbacks and prohibiting loading or unloading within the road right of way; requiring truck-route signage with Eagle Valley Township; and directing the applicant to establish roof-directed exhaust with mufflers.
Planning staff said the Department of Eagle Valley Township helped structure the conditions and attended the public hearing. The board moved, seconded and approved the CUP.
