Board authorizes parking-lot project to go to bid after hydrology report

Todd County commissioners authorized staff to take a recommended parking-lot project out to bid after the county received favorable hydrology testing and the facilities committee recommendation.
Facilities staff told the board the hydrology test allowed the county to include the required documentation for a CUP with the City of Long Prairie and that bidding will let the county get on contractors' schedules for summer work. Staff described accessible sidewalks, a concrete crosswalk and an alternate hilltop parking option as possible elements of the project.
"Basically, we got the hydrology test back, which allowed us to say we're ready to move forward," the facilities presenter said. Commissioners moved and seconded the item and approved taking the parking-lot project to bid by voice vote.
