The commenter also asked the committee to look into community reports that online credit-card receipts for school lunch payments were appearing with the descriptor "Calvert County Republican" and said parents have expressed concern that mislabeled transactions could prompt the removal of funds from student meal accounts. Lisa Grenis, a member of the Board of Education, replied that the district had been made aware and that the district's initial information suggests the issue is a credit-card-company display problem and that funds are being correctly deposited to students' meal accounts. She said the district and its payment vendor (LINQ) were investigating and would send updated information to families via SchoolMessenger.
The committee received the public comments and the Chair thanked the presenters and visiting staff for their participation before adjourning.
