During the meeting the Chair outlined a new monthly reporting process for subcommittees and asked each subcommittee to provide three suggested student-safety or well-being questions for the community survey by Feb. 26. Leads from the Safe and Supportive Environment, Support for CCPS Staff and Empowering Positive Student Behavior groups summarized expected invitees and data requests.
The Safe and Supportive Environment lead said they plan to invite Cecilia Lewis (director of student services, CCPS), Suzanne McGowan and Tiffany McFarland (student services supervisors), Larry Titus (to discuss memorandums of understanding between the sheriff's office and schools), the county health officer and detention center staff to cover MOUs, training, referral data and juvenile recidivism. The FACE lead requested speakers for early-childhood program information (Joyce King and central office staff) and asked for a gap analysis of services for young children.
Committee members emphasized the need to translate the assessment into actionable priorities and to present the findings to the county commissioners and other partners. The Chair and several members pressed for clarity about who will be accountable for follow-up actions and recommended that the committee use the Family Network report as a resource to inform local prioritization and grant strategies.
