Poulsbo council approves Suquamish Tribe partnership for Recovery Resource Center services

The Poulsbo City Council on Feb. 19 approved a 2025 agreement with the Suquamish Tribe to provide services at the city’s Recovery Resource Center.
Kim Hendrickson, who oversees the center, outlined the partnership and its goals. Under the agreement the tribe will provide a minimum of 20 hours per week of substance-use support services at the Recovery Resource Center; staff estimated that the contract minimum would allow the tribal provider to serve about 5–10 people per week under the stated minimum hours and said the tribe would likely provide more coverage than the minimum.
Council members praised the center’s work. Councilman Stern highlighted the center’s statewide recognition and its role providing space for groups displaced elsewhere. The motion to approve the agreement was made and seconded and the council approved it by voice/roll call.
What this means: the Recovery Resource Center will augment its staffing and services through the tribal partnership, and staff said the arrangement is separate from other projects (for example, the future opioid-treatment-program effort) and will not supplant other funding sources for those initiatives.
