Board approves athletic supplementals for 2026–27 and honors longtime cheer coach Sharon Grove

On April 13 the Claymont City Board of Education approved a slate of athletic supplementals for the 2026–27 school year, including Kennedy Beckley as head cheerleading coach, Gary Watkins as boys' head basketball coach and Allison DeLaney as girls' head basketball coach, among other assignments. The board also approved payment for IVC and OHSAA tournament workers.
Mr. Peters recognized Sharon Grove for her retirement and thanked her for years leading the cheer program. The athletic package passed on a roll‑call vote with one abstention by Mr. Peters and the remainder of the board voting yes.
