Claymont City Board elects Solomon Peters president, Martha Campbell vice president

At its Jan. 12 organizational meeting the Claymont City Board of Education elected Solomon Peters board president and Martha Campbell vice-president for 2026 and administered oaths to newly elected members; votes and committee appointments were approved.
The Claymont City Board of Education elected Solomon Peters as board president and Martha Campbell as vice-president during its organizational meeting on Jan. 12, 2026. Mrs. Host moved to elect Peters and Ms. Campbell seconded; the roll-call vote recorded four yes votes and one abstention by Peters on the president election; the vice-president election passed unanimously.
Treasurer Kim Beckley administered the Oath of Office for President to Solomon Peters and later administered the Oath of Office for Vice-President to Martha Campbell. The meeting record shows that the board also opened and closed nominations prior to each election and that the oath for three newly elected members—Lois Grandison, Cyndy Host and Michelle Wolf—was administered earlier in the meeting.
The elections followed procedural motions: nominations were opened and closed by board motion and approved by roll call. The board then proceeded to approve its organizational items and committee appointments for 2026 before adjourning at 6:09 p.m.
