The Claymont City School District Board voted Jan. 12 to approve a package of superintendent recommendations that included personnel actions and student certification. Among the approved items, Aubrey Somers was approved as an early 2026 graduate of Claymont High School. The personnel approvals also included an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman effective Feb. 24 through Apr. 21, 2026; hiring Samual Schafer as a full-time preferred substitute custodian at $15 per hour effective Jan. 6, 2026; and retroactive approval for Brandy Bishop as a certified ELA substitute at $90 per day for Jan. 5–9, 2026.
The board also approved a partial mentor year-1 supplemental payment of $498 for Ian Meiser and authorized payment at $27 per hour for staff participating in district professional development and calendar committee work. The superintendent’s package (items A–O) was moved by Mrs. Grandison, seconded by Ms. Campbell, and approved on a unanimous roll-call vote.
