City engineer Anna Allen summarized the downtown parking lot reconstruction project and recommended awarding the public bid to McGill Restoration, the low responsible bidder. The work will reconstruct two parking lots (3rd & Main and 6th Street alley) with 7-inch Portland cement concrete pavement and include a screening wall and restriping.
"We had a public bid opening on April 22, 2026. We received 11 bids, and McGill Restoration was a little better," Allen said, and recommended council approval of the contract in the amount of $460,343.36.
Council had no substantive concerns and approved the resolution authorizing the mayor to sign the contract 6-0. The project schedule will be determined with the contractor and staff prior to construction.
