Superintendent Dr. Miranda outlined the district’s Vision 2030 initiative, describing a multi-phase plan to develop a district 'learner profile' that will define academic competencies, durable skills and character traits expected of graduates.
"This learner profile will serve as a community crafted vision," Dr. Miranda said, and the district plans to form a development team, release a draft for community feedback, and hold surveys, focus groups and town halls to finalize the profile. He also summarized summer professional development, which included mathematics training for nearly 300 teachers and AVID summer institute attendance by more than 70 educators, and highlighted safety and security trainings led by district safety personnel.
Dr. Miranda said the district will use the learner-profile process to increase coherence across schools, departments and community partners and described it as a "North Star" to inform curriculum and professional learning in the years ahead.
