The Colton Joint Unified School District board voted to approve action items 3.1 through 3.41 with exceptions for items 3.5, 3.23 and 3.37, which were pulled for separate consideration.
"On motion by board member Fuentes and board member Sandoval and carried on a 6 0 vote," the president announced when the consent package passed. The board then considered the pulled items individually. Item 3.5 was approved on a motion by Board Member Thoring Ojeda and second by Board Member Dan Flores; the board president noted there were no abstentions and that Vice President Israel Fuentes had stepped out of the room during that vote.
Item 3.23 was approved after a motion by Board Member Harrow and second by Board Member Sandoval; the president announced the motion carried. Item 3.37 was approved on a motion by Board Member Flores with a second by Board Member Fuentes; the board president later stated the motion passed "on a 6 1 with me abstaining."
The meeting record shows the board used standard motion-second-roll practice for each action and announced tallies for the votes that were recorded in open session.
