Miller said the city received a TCEQ complaint regarding 115 Magnolia Street and that the existing sewer line has "bellies" and is too small; staff obtained a quote to replace the line and add the necessary manhole.
Miller told council the replacement would run through the ditch and would cost approximately $24,000, with an additional roughly $3,000 quoted for a second manhole. He also reported the city experienced a failed control valve that triggered a boil order in July; a replacement valve was purchased and installed by contractor 7-H to restore service.
Miller said staff is exploring an SRA grant to help fund future city repairs. Council later listed a sewer line for Magnolia as an agenda request for follow-up and the minutes show continued staff coordination on scheduling a meeting with representatives for Kim's Convenience about lift-station issues.
