Commissioner Terry Carter told the Feb. 23 commission meeting that the Ritz Theatre will undergo seat replacement and a larger addition that requires temporary street closures. He said the chair replacement is expected "late March or early May" and that streets will be closed beginning the first week of March until the end of November or first of December to accommodate construction.
Carter also reported that bond financing for the project will be finalized this week and "should close on Thursday." No zoning or permitting vote was recorded at the meeting; the commission received the report as part of commissioner updates and did not take formal action during the session.
