Bond-funded junior high projects making steady progress despite recent rain delays, contractor says

Chris from Gallagher (speaker 7) gave trustees a progress update on bond-funded junior high construction, reporting that structural steel is up at the lower junior high, CMU block work will follow, and underground plumbing is being installed for the locker room and gym areas at the upper junior high (areas A5/A6). He said columns were up and crews expected to have the roof on about two weeks after starting the columns.
Chris said the project experienced roughly nine weather days last week that delayed progress but crews are pushing to make up time; he added the metal building for the work is expected to arrive near the end of August. The update included site details such as parking-lot slab pours planned for the week, about 23,000 yards of select material remaining to finish sections of the site (from an original ~84,000 yards), and erosion-control measures where neighboring properties showed runoff issues.
Trustees asked about turf and hydroseeding behind the football field; Chris said hydroseed had taken in many areas but some washing occurred and re-seeding may be needed after the wet season. No board action was required; the report served to inform trustees of schedule and site risks.
