Board authorizes sale of surplus buses and equipment to clear maintenance area

The board approved a staff recommendation to sell surplus property—older buses and other equipment—that no longer runs or would require extensive repair.
Operations staff described having a posted list and recommended selling the items 'as presented' so purchasers could pick up and remove the assets and free up space in the bus barn. "They can pick it up and, just clear off some area, in our maintenance area in our bus barn," staff said. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the surplus sale.
Staff said the sale will be advertised in the newspaper and executed so that the district can recover space and maximize any salvage value from unusable equipment.
