The Buffalo ISD Board of Trustees set a special called budget workshop for 6:00 p.m. and scheduled a public hearing on the proposed 2026–27 budget and tax rate for July 27 at 5:30 p.m., with a regular meeting immediately afterward to consider adoption.
Superintendent (speaker 5) told trustees the workshop and hearing are intended to give board members and the public an opportunity to review the proposed numbers before a vote. "About 6PM special call budget workshop, for proposed budget and tax rate," the superintendent said when announcing the schedule. The board will hold its public hearing at 5:30 p.m. and may act on the budget and tax rate the same evening.
The superintendent said the July 27 meeting will also include presentation of district academic reports (STAR and EOC) and other regular business. No formal adjustments to the proposed rate were made at the meeting; trustees were asked to review materials in advance and bring questions to the workshop or hearing.
