The Lorenzo City Council entered executive session under Texas Government Code Chapter 551, § 551.071 to consult with the city attorney about the city's dumpster service with Caprock Waste Connection. The executive session ran from 7:19 p.m. to 8:08 p.m. as recorded in the minutes.
Following reconvening, Council Member Cheryl Birdwell moved and Council Member Rhonda Cypert seconded a motion authorizing City Manager Michael Chambers and the city attorney to contact Caprock Waste Connection to try to resolve the dumpster-service issue. The motion passed with five votes in favor. Separately, Council Member Janet Peterson-Gonzales moved to table Ordinance 011325 (a proposed sanitation-rate increase) until the dumpster issue has been resolved; Council Member Cheryl Birdwell seconded and that motion also passed 5–0.
Both actions were recorded as post-executive-session motions. The minutes do not include the underlying contract terms or any proposed new rate amounts; the council recorded no vote tally beyond the five-in-favor notation for the motions.
