Lorenzo council approves routine business, formally calls May 3 election

The Lorenzo City Council unanimously approved routine consent items and formally called the city general election for May 3, 2025 at its Jan. 13, 2025 regular meeting.
Council Member Rhonda Cypert moved to approve the Dec. 9, 2024 regular meeting minutes; Council Member Janet Peterson-Gonzales seconded and the vote was recorded as five in favor. The council also approved the December 2024 financial statements and accounts payable after a motion from Council Member Cheryl Birdwell, seconded by Council Member Earlene Rampy; that measure likewise passed with five votes in favor. Later in the meeting, Cypert moved and Birdwell seconded a motion formally calling the City of Lorenzo general election for May 3, 2025; the motion passed with five in favor.
The approvals were taken under a consent agenda format, and city staff reported a series of departmental updates during staff reports that were for discussion only. The council adjourned the meeting at 8:14 p.m.
