Superintendent shows aerial site photos and outlines road, utility and safety work near new junior high

A district staff member presented aerial imagery and described ongoing site work at and around the new junior high, including the formation of curves for an entrance, a rear parking lot and a road behind the football stadium. The presenter said water and sewer lines will run along the road and that trucks recently brought in fill dirt as part of site preparation.
The staff member said TxDOT is adding a left-turn lane and a center lane at the approach and that the district is coordinating with TxDOT on signage and safety features. On security, staff said TEA had returned feedback about exterior gates and doors and the district is developing a plan to ensure exterior doors remain locked and that student movement across buildings is controlled.
Board members asked for assurances about sightlines for buses and pedestrian safety; staff said they will confirm lane widths and work with TxDOT and other partners to ensure safe student access in and out of campus. "There's another one. You can see the entrance," the presenter said while walking trustees through aerial images of the site and entry points.
No formal vote was required for the presentation itself; the construction description was followed later by a resolution authorizing the superintendent to negotiate documents with TxDOT for infrastructure work (see related item).
