The presentation proposed a set of specific active-transportation updates to the circulation element, including an inventory of existing network gaps, prioritized pedestrian projects and a timeline for implementing bike and pedestrian improvements required by SB 932. "This is basically incorporating these plans that are already adopted and then also, including a timeline for implementation within the circulation element," the planner said.
She also described collision analysis using the statewide integrated traffic reporting system to identify pedestrian and bicycle collision hot spots and fatalities or severe-injury locations, with a program timeline toward Vision Zero goals. Commissioners requested more detail on methodology and timing; the presenter said project timelines and the hot-spot maps will be included in the administrative draft released for public review.
