Blantonford outlined the 'Tour de Trash' itinerary used to educate residents: visits typically include Bethel Landfill, a composting facility in York County, the Hampton Steam Plant (the city's waste‑to‑energy facility), Arc of the Virginia Peninsula (computer recycling), Brandscum Construction (road material recycling) and TFC Recycling's transfer site; the commission recently added a stop at the Goodwill store on Cunningham Drive. The presentation noted the April 5 tour was full and that a November 15 tour is scheduled.
