Alewine Park parking and repairs top costed park needs; other parks need targeted fixes

Public Works Director Randy Smith provided a rundown of park and recreation infrastructure needs. He said Alewine Park's parking lot "needs to be rebuilt with estimated cost of $250,000.00, and fence repair of $20,000.00," and noted Little League uses the fields and the site requires cleanup.
Smith said Emory Johnson Park is currently in good condition but Henderson Falls Park requires attention to tennis courts, covered bridge shelters, restrooms and the amphitheatre. The city discussed minor purchases for The Links at Lake Toccoa (plywood for a pavilion) and maintenance tasks for other facilities such as the Train Depot and Whitman Street building.
