Council schedules required hearings for FY2025 budget and tax rate on Sept. 3 and Sept. 17

Redmond said the proposed budget was filed and posted on Aug. 13 and that the required budget hearing would be held no earlier than 15 days after filing. Staff recommended an official budget hearing on Sept. 3 at 6 p.m., paired with a courtesy tax‑rate hearing that same evening, and the required tax‑rate hearing on Sept. 17.
Chair moved to accept the budget calendar as presented; council approved the motion by voice vote. Redmond said notices will be posted and the adoption of the budget and bond considerations will be on the Sept. 17 agenda.
